Ravenshire Equestrian was built on a pretty simple idea: horses make life better. Tucked among rolling pastures and more than 300 acres of conservancy trails, Ravenshire is where riders find their confidence again, horses enjoy a steady routine, and everyone gets a chance to leave the daily chaos at the gate.
We pair excellent horse care with an atmosphere that's welcoming, a little quirky, and rich with character. Think less high-pressure competition barn and more favorite bookshop with horses. Ravenshire is for relationship-centered horsemanship, adults returning to the saddle after years away, and newcomers who'd rather learn without being yelled at across an arena. It's a place to learn, laugh, and probably collect a little horse hair along the way.

Ravenshire is led by Laurie Miller, an animal trainer and nationally recognized animal‑care professional whose career spans more than two decades across zoos, science centers, and conservation‑focused institutions.
Laurie’s species experience spans an extraordinary range — mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates — reflecting a lifetime spent studying behavior, welfare, and communication across taxa.
This breadth of experience shapes Ravenshire’s approach to horses: grounded in science, enriched by behavioral insight, and softened by the understanding that every animal — no matter the species — carries its own story, needs, and way of communicating.
